Escod Industries is a contract manufacturer of cable assembles, wire harnesses, electromechanical subassemblies, box build, and value-added services. With manufacturing facilities in South Carolina Escod Industries provides its domestic and international customers with numerous value-added services and capabilities including shielding, over-molding, subassembly, prototyping, design assistance, off-loading, and emergency manufacturing services.

Our cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electromechanical subassemblies are manufactured to meet specific customer requirements in the key markets we serve: data processing, telecommunications, automotive electronics, and medical instrumentation. From single-conductor power jumpers to high-speed digital signal transmission assemblies, our products reflect our high standards in quality and performance. Our responsive service and on-time delivery record provide outstanding value for our customers.

A look at some of our cable assembly, wire harness, electromechanical and value-added capabilities:

Escod Industries easily handles complex wiring designs. Our capabilities are illustrated in this intricate back panel assembly for digital switching equipment that incorporates as many as six backplane boards with over 3,000 individual wire wrap terminations including all external harness connections.

Custom Test Equipment Capability Custom Test Equipment Capability

Due to the unique custom design of many interconnect systems, it is virtually impossible to purchase test equipment that will constantly provide the proper testing required. Often, it must be custom built. This requires the expertise and knowledge that Escod Industries has accumulated from over three decades of experience in the cable and wire assembly contract manufacturing business. This picture shows one of our most complex computerized test instruments for testing a back panel that is six feet in length and includes over 3,000 terminations in its completed state.

Box Build

Assembly of boxes typically includes drilling for conduit fittings, assembly and mounting of terminal blocks, fuses and printed-circuit boards, and termination and installation of connectors for internal wiring systems.

Escod Industries can be very helpful in the initial design phase of box-build projects by working closely with customers to determine design interconnect layout and component selection.

From terminations to installing circuit boards and the required components, to putting together the housing, Escod Industries is capable of assembling the entire box.

This large control box assembly consists of multiple components including switches, terminal blocks, solenoids, indicator lights, and well over 300 individual wire terminations. Escod Industries installs all components and inspects the units prior to shipment.

An in-process and a completed jacket cable assembly are shown for an all-terrain vehicle crane. The assembly is 45-feet long and incorporates hermetic connectors with over 200 terminations. Assembly application is subject to harsh external environmental testing. In addition to this complex cable assembly, the customer is supplied with complete turnkey subsystems.

Molding Molding

Escod Industries has completed backshell overmolding capability in all its facilities. Besides standard backshell overmolding, Escod Industries also molds custom design interconnect boxes and components. Process includes premold and overmolding capabilities.

Our custom molding capability offers many advantages. It can improve product reliability, quality, and durability while also allowing for customization to meet specific design configurations.

In addition to standard "back shell"-type overmolding, Escod Industries offers custom-molded capability as shown in this photo. Capability includes smaller custom-molded shapes up to interconnect boxes that will incorporate as many as eight connectors and all associated wire interconnects.

Escod Industries has the expertise to comply with stringent High-Rel workmanship standards. The electromechanical assembly pictured here requires complete assembly of all metal brackets, printed-circuit boards, connector mounting, and all wire connectorization. For this application, many terminations are soldered in place. This product is then 100% inspected, functionally tested, and delivered to the customer as a completed subassembly, ready to install.

This assembly is used in a telecommunications switch system. It requires complete assembly of the box enclosure, over 350 individual wire wrap terminations, and connectorization of input/output cables. Various configurations of this system are provided to the customer on a just-in-time basis.

This is another example of the complete capability that Escod Industries offers to its customers in cable assembly, electromechanical assembly, box build, and value-added services.
